This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how subscription billing, cancellation, and refunds work for the GetPublicIP service operated by LikeFury Ltd, doing business as GetPublicIP ("we", "us"). It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Service Level Agreement.
1. SUBSCRIPTIONS
GetPublicIP is billed on a monthly subscription, per IP address, in United States dollars. Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each billing period. Your payment method will be charged without further action from you until you cancel.
You can see your subscriptions, next renewal dates, and billing history at any time from the customer dashboard.
2. CANCELLATION
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your customer dashboard (Billing → Cancel Subscription) or by emailing info@getpublicip.com. On cancellation:
- Your subscription will not renew at the next billing date.
- Your IP address remains active through the end of the paid period you have already been billed for. You continue to have access to the IP, the configuration, and the dashboard until that date.
- At the end of the paid period, the IP address is returned to our pool for reassignment and your WireGuard configuration for that IP is permanently disabled.
Cancellation is as easy as sign-up — you do not need to call, write a letter, or speak to a retention agent.
3. REFUNDS
Because your IP address is provisioned and reserved for you at the moment of subscription, monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once the subscription has commenced. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not trigger a pro-rata refund of the current period.
We will refund subscription fees in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate or accidental charge — if you were charged twice for the same IP in the same period, or if a new subscription was created in error within 72 hours of the charge, contact us and we will refund the duplicated amount.
- Service unable to be delivered — if we cannot provision an IP address after successful payment and the failure is on our side, we will refund the charge in full.
- Material failure on our part — if we terminate the Service for our convenience, or if the Service experiences a sustained outage that exceeds the thresholds in our Service Level Agreement, you may be entitled to Service Credits or, where the SLA provides, a pro-rata refund.
- Statutory rights — nothing in this policy limits any refund right you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83 (for EU consumers — see section 4), the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, or any other applicable consumer protection law.
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your card issuer.
4. EU/UK 14-DAY RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services within fourteen (14) days of conclusion, without giving a reason.
However, you lose the right of withdrawal if we begin performing the service with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun. When you purchase a subscription and your IP address is provisioned, we treat performance as having begun — and because you tick the acknowledgement box at checkout, you lose the 14-day withdrawal right from that moment.
If you do not wish performance to begin immediately and want to preserve your 14-day right of withdrawal, contact us at info@getpublicip.com before provisioning and we will hold the subscription inactive until you confirm.
5. CHARGEBACKS
If you have a dispute about a charge, please contact us first at info@getpublicip.com — the overwhelming majority of disputes are resolved quickly by email.
Initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without contacting us first is treated as a material breach of our Terms of Service and results in immediate suspension of all services associated with the account. Reinstatement requires payment of the disputed amount plus any fees we are charged by Stripe or the card network.
6. PRICE CHANGES
We may change subscription prices from time to time. Price changes take effect at your next billing date and only after we have given you at least thirty (30) days' prior notice by email or via the customer dashboard. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel at any time before the change takes effect and you will not be charged the new price.
7. QUESTIONS
If you have questions about this policy or a specific charge, please contact us at info@getpublicip.com.
